Monkey business – perks of a writer
There are some things you cannot complain about being a writer, apart from the measly pay. Recently, I was invited to the food tasting of a themed restaurant at Holland Village.
Presenting the 3-Monkeys Cafe
Welcome to 3-monkeys!
First to greet you are the cheeky monkey plush toys
The sitting area downstairs
And another cosy corner on the 2nd floor
The murals on the wall are actually painted by a local artist who is hearing impaired. They are the most impressive and span the entire restaurant, both downstairs and upstairs.
The restaurant first opened its doors in Singapore in 1997 at the Orchard Towers. They even have a franchise in The Venetian Hotel and Resort in Macau! I didn’t know that. Otherwise I would have tried to look out for it while I was in Macau last year. Support local! This outlet at Holland Village is the lastest addition.
Enough of background. Here comes the important part, the yummies!
Awesome platter (that's the actual name of the dish)
Mighty Joe Burger - the name says it all, it's HUGE
Chicken Fajitas - and they are served on a singing trolley
Garlic Prawn Sizzler
Sampler Platter - a little of everything.
All I can say is that the food is pretty good and the portions are really generous!
The best part of the media lunch was the $50 voucher that was given to us for a return visit. You can be pretty sure that I will be there soon. It is a great place for a gathering.
3-Monkeys is located at 267 Holland Ave, the same stretch of shophouses where Essential Brew and the banks are. Pricing is similar to Fish & Co.
I can hear the Fajitas calling out to me…….
